 The Magician’s Nephew is the penultimate book in C.S. Lewis’s celebrated Narnia Chronicles, in which the origins of Narnia are explained, and in which Polly and Digory travel between worlds with the aid of magic rings. The timeless drawings are by Pauline Baynes, J.R.R. Tolkien’s favourite artist, and foremost illustrator both of Middle-earth and Narnia.
Book condition: This is the true first issue, complete with the original dust jacket, original green cloth boards with silver lettering to spine, profuse line drawings, and 183 pages. The book is complete and intact, well read, with finger-marking, soiling and staining throughout, a few very small paint marks, one short closed tear to gutter, creasing/bumping to three tips, foxing to one spread, one or two spots elsewhere, slight bumping to some edges, creasing to lower margins throughout (handling wear). Endpapers with staining; front free endpaper with a little creasing, name in ink plus trace of old pencilled price (erased). Edges of page block with foxing, a little soiling, a few small paint marks.

Dust jacket condition: An original pictorial dust jacket. The illustrated dust jacket is price-clipped, now in clear protective wrapper.  Light wear & tear to edges.
